In line with their agenda of Community Development and Social Upliftment, ITPL has just concluded a two-day Exhibition & Sale of Rural Handicrafts entitled "AARAMBH".

These objects are being made by various women's groups supported by IDPMS (formerly Indo-Dutch Project Management Society). AARAMBH was held at the Tech Park Mall at ITPL and generated a lot of interest amongst corporates there. Speaking on the occasion Mr. William Seet, CEO, ITPL said, " We at ITPL have always been committed to social causes and this is an endeavor in the right direction.

We shall always strive to organise events that will benefit society and contribute to the environs around us. " IDPMS was established in 1989 as part of the collaboration between the governments of Netherlands and Karnataka. An NGO dedicated to the economic and social empowerment of rural women in Karnataka, it has succeeded (in collaboration with the alumni of NID, Ahmedabad, for rural development of design and training), in imparting skills to them in the production of a range of handicraft items. The International Tech Park offers a complete "work, live and play" environment for technology-savvy companies, many of them in information technology and research and development.

The Park fully integrates office, production and retail space. It also has executive residential apartments and its retail mall already has services such as bank, laundry service, cafeteria, medical centre and health club/fitness centre.

The Park is a joint venture between the Tata Industries (the investment arm of the Tata Group); a Singapore consortium led by JTC International, which is the international arm of Singapore's largest industrial developer, Jurong Town Corporation; and the Karnataka State Government through KIADB.
