Independence Day at International Tech Park with Family Services
Bangalore, August 14, 2002

Celebrating freedom with a social spirit

What children become, and the future society they create, largely depends on what children learn in the present. So, we at the International Tech Park believed that Independence Day, called for a celebration with the less fortunate. Promoting volunteerism was the essence and this led us to organise a day's out for 300 orphans in association with Family Services, Bangalore, a non-profit organisation.

The kids received a warm welcome to the Tech Park , after which it was fun time. Every child was given a white T-Shirt and brushes with paintto create pictures, one could hardly imagine. Then the skies too got their share of colour, with the kite flying session. All through the day there was fun and excitementgames, adventure, sports and lots of food and goodies.

The event was supported through the efforts of companies at the Tech Park including Netscape Communications India, Sanyo LSI Technology India Pvt. Ltd., Huawei Technologies India, Infineon Technologies India Pvt. Ltd., 24/7 Customer.com, SG Software Asia and ITPL for their community programmes.

Several enthusiastic Parkites volunteered their personal and professional time to give 'personal attention' to the kids, something they always crave for and need.

Mr. Chan Kah Hoe, CEO at the Information Tech Park said, "What better way than to celebrate the freedom of India with children. All in all, it proved to be lots of fun and a time of real bonding and getting to know the children. We hope to have more such events at the Park".
