Bangalore: International Tech Park in association with a voluntary organization, "Songs for the Sparrow" pledged their support to the environment through a fun-evening event at the Tech Park lawns. Crowds roared and rocked to some of Indias renowned musicians and artistes.
It all started with a welcome address by Charu Sharma, India's leading television personality, who was at his witty best and The Chronic Blues Band, known for their local numbers including the Mango Song, entertained the crowd with their Rhythm and Blues. Roberto Narain, India's renowned percussionist was followed by Ultimate - a Sri Lankan band, known for their foot-tapping music of the 60s and 70s, also spread the message of preserving the environment. Stalls displaying eco-products were the highlight of the evening.
The other guests for the evening were Rakesh Sharma, India's first astronaut and Vasundhara Das, singer and film actress shared their views on preservation of the environment.
Speaking on this initiative, Mr. Chan Kah Hoe, CEO, Information Technology Park Ltd. says, " It was a pleasure to see the techies and other company employees come forward in such large number to support the cause. We all had a great time getting the show together and enjoyed even more being a part of a great musical evening. We hope to have many such fun-evenings as part of our Moonlighting events."
