Techies and other IT professionals came forward to participate in Sports Futsal 2003 - a 5 a-side corporate football tournament at the International Tech Park from 4th - 7th November 2003. Organised by the Sports Promotion Team, a reputed Sports event management company, the tournament drew participation from 18 Corporates, most of which operate from the Tech Park.
Today marked the culmination of the four-day event. The day began with the semi-finals where Transworld took on SAP Labs in the First Round followed by First Ring One Source who took on 24/7 Customer.com in round two of the Semis.
Post lunch, the thrilling finale saw First Ring One Source beat SAP Labs by 2 goals to 1. Amidst loud cheers, whistling and playing of tambourines, the tournament brought many enthusiastic football fans to witness the event.
Chan Kah Hoe, CEO, ITPL gave away trophies to the winning team and individuals and lauded them for their sporting ability and passion for the game.
The Victors :
- First Ring One Source won the finals of the Sports Futsal tournament beating SAP Labs in a thrilling encounter.
- The Fair play team award was won by HSBC BPO
- Zap App and Transworld were given the best cheering squads for keeping everybody including their teams in high spirits throughout the tournament.
- Leafon Johnson from Ocwen Financials was awarded the Best Goal keeper.
- Micheal of First Ring bagged the Highest goal scorer award for scoring a total of 9 goals in the tournament.

This is in addition to the existing Annual Sports Meet held at the Tech Park. The 5 a- side football tournament has enabled Parkites and others to display their sporting ability, promote healthy competition and enable networking."
