'Fitnezz Week @ Tech Park' culminated on Friday, 10 Sept, with grand finals of the 'Corporate Vertical Challenge - a run up the stairs of the Tech Park building - Discoverer (13 floors - 382 steps).
From over three hundred Parkites who had registered to take up the preliminary challenge in the competitions held over Wednesday, 8 September and Thursday, 9 September, 2004, 40 finalists were selected to participate in the Grand Finale. Some of the participants included Mr. Harsha Patel, Director - Accelrys Software Solutions, Mr. G S Krishnan - Managing Director, Novozymes South Asia Pvt. Ltd. among others.

The finalists were attired in orange vests with bandanas and assembled at the Discoverer lobby. Mr. Suresh Heblikar flagged off the grand finale of the 'Corporate Vertical Challenge', getting techies to scramble their way to the 13th floor.
The winners of the 'Corporate Vertical Challenge', the fastest Male and Female Runners, were awarded with trophies along with several gift hampers from VLCC, Soukya, Ayurvedagram among others.
The 'Corporate Vertical Challenge' was followed by a 'Twilight Zone', an evening of music and dance, organized by TASMAC. The theme of the evening was REMIX XP with DJ Chicko bringing back nostalgic memories through exciting remixes of the oldies, getting techies to come onto the floor to swing to the music. Several Parkites were seen singing along and foot tapping to the Bollywood's hottest remixes from ever-popular Kaanta Laga to Chura Liya, Saiyan Dil Mein Aana Re and Bindu Re Bindu. MC Tanveer got the Parkites to unwind and lighten up the evening through interactive fun one-minute games. Exciting prizes from TASMAC and other goodies lured Parkites and entertainment them through the evening.
The four-day event from September 7 - 10, 2004, comprised of a series of health related programmes and activities. During this period, the Tech Park Health Club conducted an 'open-house' enabling Parkites to undergo an experiential fitness program. The Fitnezz Week @ Tech Park also had stalls of Tech Park Health Club, Ojus Healthcare, Opto Opticians, Soukya, Ayurvedagram, Positive Health Clinic, VLCC and Narayana Hrudalaya. Apart from the stalls, Mrs. Suja Isacc of Soukya spoke speak on Food & Nutrition, Dr. K Jayarajan of Ayurvedagram, covered the aspects of stress management and Dr. Sujala from VLCC gave a talk on Weight loss. Health Food was also available to add to the event.
Commenting on the huge success of the Fitness Week, ITPL CEO, Mr. Jonathan Yap said, "The Fitnezz Week @ Tech Park has attracted good response and the purpose of drawing attention to health and fitness has been achieved. Now it is the responsibility of individuals to make health and fitness as their daily routine if they want to benefit out of this programme."
