 As part of the Independence Day Celebrations and also to mark the inauguration of the Athens Olympics, the International Tech Park, Bangalore, along with THE FAMILY (also known as Family Service) organised a cultural event for a miniature Olympics for over 500 underprivileged children from 11 institutions around Bangalore.
The children competed in 15 different Olympic events such as- 100 meters, relay race, Javelin, Hurdles (100 meters), Long jump, High jump, Shot put, Discus (Frisbee), Shooting, Cycling, Obstacle course, hand ball, archery, tug-of-war, etc.
Volunteers from companies operating at the International Tech Park, came forward to assist in the organizing of these events. Individual winners took home gold, silver and bronze medals, and all institutes received a trophy for their participation. Children were also given mementoes to commemorate the celebration.
