Tech Park goes "Dhoom Phichuck Dhoom" with EUPHORIA
Bangalore, February 28, 2005

ISOLATION IN a crowd. Everything ceases to exist - the boisterous crowd, sweat dripping down their faces, plumes of dust rising above and the fury of sound assaulting the senses. Only some soul-filled moments as the pinings of lost love knock at your heart's door. Is anybody home? And Rock reigned like rain could in Bangalore, last Friday at the International Tech Park.

A few minutes before the evening got rocking, one was seen wondering if `RUST' would really Rock Bangalore hard enough? They did, came the answer. The band had logs of confidence and 'RUST' was looking damn good whether they were playing their own comps or belting out the hits like, Bin Tere Sanam, Meeti Meeti Bhathia, Boolaki and many more. With the kind of potential Gopu (Lead vocals and guitars), Paresh (Guitars, backing vocals), and Anoop (Keyboards), the band sure would grow. At the end of their opening act, rock fanatics really wished they got to see more of the band.

After a break, it was time for the 'Fathers of Hind Rock' - `EUPHORIA' to drive the multitude into a state of ecstasy. Though the venue was jam packed, the vast open space gave enough room for head-bangers to move around and virtually hit the floor in the course of the evening. The chunk of the banging happened when Dr. Palash Sen wooed the crowd, the band played till almost eleven, starting off with Vande Mataram number. Palash at the mike, Hitesh on the guitar, with Benny Pinto playing the keyboards and Jyothis at the guitar, they drove the crowd into frenzy. And yes, with amazing stage presence `Euphoria' was all-passion throughout as they came out with renditions of Gully, Dhoom Phichuck Dhoom, Mantra and many more...

Halfway into the concert, the crowd just needed an excuse to stop head banging and chill out. Some were tired, some sweating like hell after bouts of head- banging and some simply took their shirts off and sat down enjoying a sauna of rock. And towards the end, the band pepped up the pace, launched itself into top gear, making the guys in the front get on to their feet for the finale of the evening.

If this is the shape of things to come, we are just going to have a lot of rock fanatics in the city, and the best part of it: It's clean rock. For those who love to get rocked. Not stoned. In the end, it was Euphoria, which had everyone in a euphoric bind and craving for more. Encore, Euphoria!
